Bound by a common love of jazz, 70’s fusion and 70’s soul and funk, Gruvtherapy began it’s mission in 2005 to entertain audiences with a sound best described as Neo Soul/Urban Jazz… mature, smooth and sexy while vibrant and full of energy. Some would later dub their energetic musical style as “Ruffneck Jazz.”
Although there have been changes in the lineup, their musical style remains unchanged - a pulsating, tight, funky rhythm section led by a saxophone that is both warm and soulful, or playful and energetic.
In the words of their fans, “Gruvtherapy’s sound makes you want to get up and dance!” |
